Tips for Visiting Hatyai Municipal Park from a Local’s Experience
Since there are many activities, temples, and viewpoints at Municipal Park Hatyai, it’s important to plan your visit in an organized way. The recommended time to explore is 3-4 hours, and the best time to visit is between 4:It’s not too hot, so you’ll see it going ’til 00 PM – 7:00 PM.
Important note: You will have to carefully check the weather forecast. Don’t go if it’s raining, period.

Pedal boat activity at Municipal Park Hatyai
Paddle boating and feeding the fish will be the first activity to start. Food for the fish cost me 20 THB, plus 100 THB for the boat rental, about 15 RM (120 THB). The fish here are really big so if you are bringing your kids, then be even more so careful my friends!

Go feed adorable animals at the minizoo in Hatyai Park.
When you finish pedal boating, drive a bit further to add more fun into the minizoo and run into some adorable animals as well as fantastic feeding activities!

Wai Brahma at Hat Yai Brahma Shrine
So now we go together up Kho Hong mountain to revere Thao Maha Phrom. Most people come here to make wishes for luck, career, health and love. Especially loved by business men and merchants because they think Thao Maha Phrom will bring them success.

Take photos with beautiful flowers at Kho Hong Flower Garden Viewpoint.
On the way, you’ll be able to see lots of flower fields, and get a bird’s view of Hatyai city. Then don’t forget to take photos of the wooden bridge through flower garden and ‘I ❤️ Hatyai’ sign. This place is a key landmark!!

Enjoy the view from the back of Kho Hong Hill at Kho Hong Cliff Viewpoint.
Keep driving a bit further and you’ll find yourself up this hilltop with stunning view of Hat Yai city up above in the clear air with breeze that sounds cool. It’s great for relxing and taking beautiful pictures. Pose with city view in the background. If you want to get the “Best of Hat Yai” shots, this has to be a stop!

Hatyai Cable Car, the first of its kind in Thailand.
Cable Car Hatyai City is still one of the must-visit highlights when exploring Hatyai City Municipal Park. And the view you’ll see; not just of Hat Yai city, but of Songkhla Lake! This is such a tremendous, amazing thing to see take place.
As a heads up though, for temporary renovation currently it is closed.
The good news is it’s expected to re-open within this (we’ll update you soon).

Pay respect to Buddha at Phra Phutthamongkol Maharaj
Standing tall at 19.9 metres, the largest Buddha statue in Hat Yai is also one of the key landmark in Hat Yai, as locals refer to it. It’s a striking golden color. This is Buddha statue giving in the blessed posture with elegance and promience. People come to pray for success in life, good fortune, and health and more nations are depicted than most of the pilgrims ever meet here. Most do a popular fortune telling based on the numbers you receive. Highly recommended!

Don’t forget to go down and pay respect at kuan yin temple hatyai.
The most prominent in Guan Yin Temple Hatyai is a large statue of Guan Yin in the “Blessing Pose” on a hill top. It is surrounded by tranquil atmosphere and a natural beauty. The roof is decorated in a traditional Chinese style, with dragon roofs, carved stone pillars, and the fine patterns of the flowers. These are beautiful Chinese art and culture elements. Visitors would come to pray for wealth, health, ishara (kind of success), ishara (more specifically success in life), love and other such things.

Watch the sunset at Kho Hong Mountain Viewpoint
Hat Yai is provided with a 360 degree view at the highest peak of Khao Kho Hong. Here you can see the whole Hat Yai and several high rise building, main roads, and green areas around the city. The evening (5:It is the most popular time to visit (at 30 PM) because you can catch the sunset with golden light reflecting over Hat Yai. It is an experience that is most difficult to find in Hat Yai.
